CAMBRIDGE, Ohio – The Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) announces the recent $3,150 contribution from the People Bank Foundation to help fund a downtown Cambridge retail gap analysis and community retail leakage study. The CIC and Cambridge Main Street will collaborate to launch the project in early 2025.

“We greatly appreciate the support of the Peoples Bank Foundation for the upcoming project,” said Bill Arnett, Executive Director, Cambridge-Guernsey County CIC. “Donations like this from the Peoples Bank Foundation allow us to complete projects that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to undertake,” he said.

Once completed, the report will identify business types that are missing in downtown Cambridge but are found in similar downtown areas. Further, the retail leakage study will determine resident and visitor spending by sector versus total estimated sales. The document will be used to market the community to business owners and operators to enhance retail and service options in the local area.

“Supporting organizations that share our vision to improve our communities is important to Peoples Bank’s mission as a community bank,” said “Mike Yanico and Matt Dolan, Peoples Bank Business Bankers and Guernsey Noble County Co-Market Team Leaders. “We are impressed with the work being done by the CIC and its partners to make the community an even better place to live and do business,” they said.
